What is a spinal cord injury?

Spinal Trauma Or Spinal Cord Injury surgery & Treatment in Ludhiana, Punjab, SCI stands for ‘Spinal Cord Injury’ which is a medical term for spinal cord damage. The condition is likely to result in physical trauma and can greatly impact the person’s daily life. The problem can result in:

    • Permanent changes in strength
    • Sensation level changes
    • Other body functions below the injury site get affected.

The spinal cord is the bundle of nerves and other tissue that the spine vertebrae protect & contain. The spine contains nerves and they reach to the brain which goes down the back and ends near the buttocks. The spinal cord works as the primary source for sending messages from the brain to the rest of the body parts. The ability to move the limbs and notice the pain is through the spinal cord only.

If the spinal cord is suspected of an injury, the messages will not be able to get through. Below the injury site, there can be:

    • Total or complete loss of sensation
    • Loss of mobility

Dr. Jhawar can help you identify the right kind of treatment for you and your loved ones. His excellence and treatment approach is the perfect example of what makes him the best neuro spine doctor.
